About my Posterous
November 2010
I've been using Blogger for the past several years to host my photography blog. And, although I was quite happy with Blogger, my life and work style has changed. I now find I use my iPhone for a large percentage of my business email - both reading, responding and writing new messages. I have no problem opening and viewing the countless pdf's, excel and powerpint files I need to review and respond to on a daily basis. Although I didn't think about this initially, there are many workdays that I'm running around in meetings and never get to sit in my office and even boot up my Macbook Pro.
I realized that Blogger was no longer the ideal application or "base" for my photography blogging - there is still to my knowledge no well deisgned iPhone app that let's me post and manage my Blogger account from wherever I am. The introduction of the Posterous App for the iPhone nows gives me the ability to easily post new entries to my Posterous blog right from my phone. In addition, Posterous autoposts any new entries to my Twitter account. Posterous also has what appears to be a braindead simple yet reliable upload function whereby I can easily upload mulitple files including images, audio, and documents including pdf's. Being a photo-centric blog, I'm also concerned with the quality of the photos I'm posting. So far, it appears that the Posterous software for image uploads does a good job of maintaining the integrity of my photos, and even allows you as a visitor to see a larger image file or download the original file that I submitted to them.
So, I hope you'll like my new blog here on Posterous, and let me know if you have any questions or comments.
And remember, photography is not necessarily all about your gear. It's about the way you see life - it's your vision. Strive to develop your own photographic style. Think different. See different. And above all, be passionate.
Happy Shooting!
